Why is sex important for mature women?  As women age, their bodies go through various changes, including hormonal shifts and physical changes. These changes can affect their sex lives and sexual desire. Despite common beliefs that women lose interest in sex as they age, research shows that sex can be just as important and satisfying for women in their later years.

7 Reasons Sex is Important For Mature Women

Good sex can improve sleep, reduce stress, and even boost immune function. Additionally, regular sexual activity has been linked to greater happiness and life satisfaction in older adults. While some women may experience physical changes that make sex more challenging or uncomfortable, there are many ways to adapt and continue to enjoy sexual intimacy as they age.

How often do mature women have sex?  Compared to their male counterparts, women seem to enjoy sex approximately 1.74 times per month.

Understanding that sex is important for mature women is crucial for promoting good health and well-being. By prioritizing sexual health and seeking out resources and support, women can continue to enjoy fulfilling and satisfying sex lives well into their later years.  Single women, don’t despair.  Personal pleasure will be just as effective in giving you a better night’s sleep and lowering your blood pressure.

Physical Benefits of Sex

Why is sex less satisfying for aging women? As women age, their bodies undergo “the change” that can affect their physical health. Thanks to menopause, hormones decline drastically.  Many women will experience vaginal dryness, pain during intercourse, and disinterest in sex due to a poor self-image.  This in turn may impact libido.  However, having regular sex can provide several physical benefits that can help improve general health and well-being.  Did you know that more sex leads to increased vaginal lubrication which then decreases the pain felt during your amorous encounters?

1 – Improved Cardiovascular Health – Studies have shown that having sex can improve cardiovascular health in women. During sex, the heart rate increases, which can help improve blood flow, lower blood pressure and improve sleep.  As a result, sex can help to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.

2 – Reduced Menopause Symptoms – Having regular sex stimulates blood flow to your lady parts can keep your vaginal tissue supple and prevent dryness and itch.

3 – Stress Reduction – Sex may help reduce stress levels in women. During sex, the body releases endorphins, which are natural mood boosters that can help reduce stress and anxiety. Additionally, sex can help lower cortisol levels, which is a hormone associated with stress.

4 – Improved Pelvic Floor Muscles – Regular sex can also help strengthen pelvic floor muscles in women. This is because, during sex, these muscles are engaged and exercised. Strengthening these muscles can help prevent urinary incontinence and improve sexual function.

Overall, engaging in regular sexual activity can provide several physical benefits that can help improve overall health and well-being in women as they age. However, it is important to note that these benefits are not exclusive to sex and can also be achieved through other forms of physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices.

Sex Is Important For Mature Women’s Mental and Emotional Wellbeing

As women age, sex can provide important mental and emotional benefits. Sex can improve mood, reduce the risk of depression and anxiety, and improve bonding and intimacy.

5 – Improved Mood and Self-Esteem – Sexual activity can increase levels of endorphins and oxytocin, which are hormones that promote feelings of pleasure and well-being. These hormones can help improve mood and boost self-esteem. In addition, sexual activity can provide a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, which can also contribute to improved mood and self-esteem.

6 – Reduced Risk of Depression and Anxiety – it has been found that sexual activity can reduce the risk of depression and anxiety. It helps reduce stress and promote relaxation, which can have a positive impact on mental health. And, sexual activity can increase feelings of intimacy and connection with a partner, which can also contribute to improved mental health.

7 – Improved Bonding and Intimacy – Sexual activity can improve bonding and intimacy between partners. Sexual activity promotes the release of oxytocin, which is sometimes referred to as the “bonding hormone.” Oxytocin promotes feelings of attachment and intimacy, which can help strengthen relationships. In addition, sexual activity can provide a sense of closeness and connection between partners, which can also contribute to improved bonding and intimacy.

In Summary

Overall, sexual activity can provide important mental and emotional benefits for women as they age. By improving mood, reducing the risk of depression and anxiety, and improving bonding and intimacy, sexual activity can help promote overall well-being.  I don’t know about you, but this is one form of exercise I can get behind.
