7 Unique & Luxurious Items You Need To Have On Your At-Home Spa Day Checklist
So what do you need to have for your luxurious at-home spa day? Check out the list of items below.
Checklist:
Essential OILs
- Rose petals and lavender blossoms – for a relaxing bath you can add them to the warm water as you run the bath so they can infuse into the water. Hydrate your skin with the oils in the rose petals. Watch those dry flakes disappear before your very eyes. Once you’re done with the bath your skin will feel soft and supple.
- Essential oils – relaxing and stress-reducing, essential oils are a must-have in your bath and anywhere else in your home that you spend a lot of time in. It has been proven that inhaling the scent of essential oils reduces anxiety. Imagine a long peaceful night’s sleep because of aromatherapy. Use your favorite scent to infuse the bathwater, in your Sage aromatherapy diffuser, or on your favorite candle. I use my Sage diffuser daily and love that I can take it with me from room to room.
Scrubs
- Body scrub – you can buy one from your local beauty product supplier or you can make your own. Remove dead skin and encourage new skin growth. Be careful not to over-exfoliate as that can lead to dry, irritated skin. Please see the awesome homemade scrub recipe below.
- Foot scrub – what is a day at the spa without taking care of those little piggies? You find a great DIY homemade spa treatment for your feet below. Invigorate your tired feet with a foot scrub while you peel away the rough patches. Your feet never felt so good and never looked so good in a pair of stiletto sandals.
Other Tools
- Scented candles – nothing sets the mood like a flickering flame and the soft scent of a candle. They add to the serenity of your at-home spa experience. If you prefer you can always use battery-operated candles instead. Turn off the lights and enjoy the warm glow of the candlelight while you soak in the tub listening to your Spotify playlist. Nothing says “me time” better than the soft candlelight that allows your mind to be free of the daily hum-drum.
- Jade face roller – these handy little tools are inexpensive but they provide a soothing gentle massage as you roll them along the contours of your face. Simply roll them along the jawline, around your cheeks and eyes, and your neck to stimulate your facial muscles, reducing puffiness and under-eye circles. The soft rolling action encourages the lymph nodes to properly drain. Most of all it gives your skin a more youthful appearance.
- Spa Bath Pillow – there is no way you can actually relax on the hard tub. You need to rest your pretty head on the lap of luxury with an ergonomic spa bath pillow from CLB. This one is perfect for the job. It stays in place with 6 extra-large suction cups, allows water to flow through the high-quality mesh design, and it is mold resistant because the water drains quickly and easily. And, it is ergonomic so it cradles your head and neck comfortably. Did I mention it is machine washable and hangs to dry? No musty, stinky smells after using it.
Homemade Spa Ideas:
Enhance your at-home spa day with these simple yet amazing homemade spa products. All the ingredients are likely already in your house and they take only a few minutes to complete these DIY homemade spa treatments.
Follow these easy directions for all the scrubs mentioned below:
Mix all the ingredients together and place them in a cool spot for the coconut oil to harden. The warmer the temperature the looser the scrub as coconut oil melts quickly when exposed to heat. You don’t want a loose, runny scrub.
Whip the ingredients with your hand blender for best results.
Rub on your body and feet in gentle circular motions.
Wash off.
Keep sealed in a jar in a cool dry place or coconut oil will melt. If you live in a warm climate, store it in the fridge.

How to create a spa day at home
I know this goes without saying but clean your tub first and foremost. Can you imagine trying to relax in a dirty tub…Ewwww!!!
Lock the door, turn off your phone and sip on that glass of champagne, wine, or heck if beer is your thing then go for it, while you take care of yourself for a change!! Ignore the knocks on the door and the screams for mom outside the door. They will be perfectly fine without you for a few minutes. Besides, do this on a regular basis and they will become accustomed to mom’s time.
Turn on some soft music. Personally, I like the sound of birds chirping or rain falling. These sounds are totally spa day.
Fill the tub with warm water and surround the tub with your candles, your bath sponges, and your glass of champagne.
Read a book, meditate, or just listen to the sound of the rain while you lay in your tub and enjoy your moment.
This is your moment. Add the things that will make you feel fabulous as you spend some quality time with yourself.
Have a thick fluffy robe and slippers waiting for when you are ready to come out of the tub. Wrap yourself up in its warmth and keep the feeling going for a little while longer before allowing reality to snap you out of the pleasurable experience you just had.
